Dear all,

A lot of my team members are getting attracted to each other, which is causing work to suffer. A significant amount of time is being wasted in their interpersonal conversations. Additionally, team dynamics are suffering as the team is no longer working cohesively. Please share your views on this issue to assist me.

What is important is not how many hours a person works, but how much and what quality of output he is giving to the company.

By the way, you can give the employees target-oriented work, like "You need to finish this work by 5 pm" or "This amount of work needs to be completed by Friday." This approach can help achieve the required output and may discourage them from "wasting" their time chatting.

Moreover, I personally believe that there has to be some interaction among employees in a healthy organization.

Hi,

Getting involved with your peer colleague is very natural. However, if you lead a team, you can consider having them sit next to you or within your vicinity so that you can consistently interact with them without coming across as a watchdog. Moreover, assign them more diverse responsibilities that involve interacting with other team members as well.

Take your breaks alongside the colleague involved; this way, they won't have much time away from their workstation.

Hello everyone,

I think regularly updating them with loads of work would avoid their chit-chatting, and probably working together may achieve organizational goals quicker. Putting restrictions or pointing them out in a crowd may make them defensive.

Better to load them with work than lose personnel.
