I work in a private organization, having PF and UAN numbers under the West Bengal Kolkata head office. As per the rules of PF, I am not receiving any updates or SMS regarding the deposits in the PF and pension accounts. I have not received any alerts.

Upon inquiry with the PF customer care, they informed me that this PF number is deposited under a trust, and they are unable to disclose the amount or assist me with this matter. Additionally, the company's HR department is also not providing help in this regard. I suspect that something is amiss and not proceeding smoothly. Can someone help me understand this situation better?

Whether trust or no trust you must get alerts. You may formally write letter to local PF office about the matter.

Understanding Private Trust Deposits and EPFO

If it is being deposited under a private trust, the EPFO will not have any information on the same. Information will come to them only once a year when they file their annual return. However, the PF trust is required to provide you with a quarterly statement of amounts credited and interest. You need to speak to the senior management of the company to ensure that you get details of the same.

Steps to Take if Information is Not Provided

If, in spite of the request, you do not get the information on a quarterly basis, you can file a complaint with the regional provident fund commissioner who will then investigate and may be able to cancel the approval of the fund.

However, I hope you realize that as soon as you file a complaint, you are likely to lose your job. The management is not going to take kindly to the fact that you have complained.
