Hi,

This is Rahul Mohite, HR of the software company. My question is, when I joined an infrastructure company, the environment was totally different; they were cooperative in every situation. But as I joined a software company, the behavior of employees is completely different. How do I manage that?

As you mentioned, your previous employment had a good environment, but the current one is not as favorable. It is a fact in many companies that some employees may not be the same, and they might not respond positively or may even try to make you uncomfortable.

If you still wish to continue with them, I suggest not dwelling on this matter and focusing on your job as per your usual process. Alternatively, you could consider sharing these issues with your Managing Director to seek assistance.

I have had a similar experience, and now the situation is quite different from before; I can clearly see some changes.

Thank you.

Managing Workplace Conflicts and Politics

Workplace conflicts and politics are common in most workplaces, if not all. This is often due to the absence of a culture of shared values, mutual respect, and a focus on the common good. It largely depends on the leadership of the organization. If the leadership is not concerned about changing it, then you have to manage in such conditions by following the principle of "what cannot be cured, shall be endured." Be tactful in what you say and careful about whom you choose to be friends with while doing your best in your job.

Every company's behavior is different. I have worked in many software development companies and found a different environment in each one. Therefore, it is essential to adapt and manage yourself according to your company's specific environment.
