Provident Fund Registration Requirements
Companies employing twenty or more persons are required to register for the allotment of a PF Code number with the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner. Employees earning a salary of less than Rs. 15,000 must be mandatorily enrolled under the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF).
The employer is responsible for deducting the employee's contribution from their wages. Within fifteen days of the close of every month, the employer must pay the contributions and administrative charges to the fund using separate bank drafts or checks.
