I'm Jigisha. I need to know whether we should take into consideration the extra days worked on weekends or public holidays when calculating PL/EL. Sometimes, for this extra work, the company provides compensatory offs, which is causing confusion for me. I'm unsure whether we should count those extra working days as working days for PL calculation or not. Please guide me.

Dear Jigisha, you can check your Hr Policies and go through General rules and regulation. Mostly company gives us compensatory offs which is valid for before 60 days in working days.

Also, see your respective Shops and Establishment Act. There are provisions pertaining to casual leaves along with comp-offs. Regards must be made to the Factories Act if the employer is a factory. These are the minimum leaves that are to be given. See the website below.
