Hi everyone, I am working with one of the infrastructure companies and am based at a project as a site civil engineer. I resigned from the service on 10-10-2016. However, my project head is not accepting my resignation. Only with his approval will the HR department further process the same.

I want to know what will happen if I leave the organization on 18-10-2016, or what will happen if I leave after the notice period of one month if they do not act on or reply to my resignation. Kindly help me with this dilemma.

Regards

It depends on your terms of employment, especially the clause concerning separation. Please go through that clause in the appointment letter and comply with those terms.

The notice period starts from the day you have given your resignation. There is actually no concept of refusing to accept the resignation. It's not really in the hands of the employer.

Still, it's always better to leave amicably, especially in view of future references you may need to get from here. So speak to your manager personally and get him to process it. If that does not work, you need to speak to his superiors. It's better to complete the notice period anyway.
