Hello,

The latest news is that the maternity leave is up to 26 weeks! Is it applicable to employees covered under ESI as well? If it is in force, then from when is it effective, and can I have a copy of the notification approving the same?

The amendment to the Maternity Benefit Act is in process as of now. It has been passed by the Rajya Sabha and needs to be passed by the Lok Sabha before getting the assent of the President of India.

After that, it will be published in the official Gazette, and the effective date of its implementation shall be notified.
