Despite being designated as Managers, these individuals often function more as clerks or supervisors. Lines of authority are not clearly demarcated, and decision-making powers are not fixed.
Employee empowerment is highly valued in Western countries. In some companies, bosses reprimand their subordinates for their inability to make decisions. In contrast, in the Indian context, bosses criticize their employees for not seeking their guidance.
