During my postgraduate degree, I joined as an intern in XX company. After completing my internship, the company interviewed me as per their policy and verbally communicated about my package, mentioning that I was shortlisted and selected. I have been continuously working with that organization for the past 3 months, but they have not provided me with an offer letter or any related documents, nor have they been paying me.
Every time I inquire, the HR department informs me that I need approval from the management and advises me to wait. Meanwhile, I have received a job offer from another reputable company. They are requesting an offer letter or any official document stating my selection with a specific package, pending approval. However, when I asked my HR for such a letter, she was unwilling to provide it. What should I do now?

I would say that you should not continue in your present organization. An organization that permits someone to enter without any documentation describing the legal relationship between the person and the company is not a good place to work. You can inform the company that has offered you a position about the situation in your current organization. Express your doubts about whether the HR department would be able to provide you with any official letter. You have stayed in your current position mainly because this is where you completed your internship.

If the new HR is so adamant, we have no other option. Normally, the statement of the candidate is important in cases like the recruitment of freshers. It is acceptable when you have been offered a position that is open to experienced persons. In your case, it should be a post open for freshers. Anyway, please talk to the HR and convince him.

Internship and Experience Clarification
Internship is a part of the curriculum and is not considered as experience. If you have listed it as experience on your CV and received a new offer solely based on that, I'm afraid you have no choice but to obtain a service certificate from your current company and proceed to join the new one.
