I am an HR professional from a Product Development company, and I have a query regarding the consideration of weekend leave if it falls between holidays.

Weekend Leave Policy Query

Our organization has a policy that considers weekends as part of leave if they fall between days off. This year, we have several holidays that will fall on either Friday or Monday. Do we need to include Saturday and Sunday as part of the leave if someone takes time off either following the holiday or ending with the holiday that is attached to the weekend?

Please clarify my doubt.

Thanks in advance.

If the employee works a day before or after the holiday, it can be considered, and there is no need to attach it along with the leave. The preceding or succeeding working day shall be considered since the company is off on Saturday and Sunday. For example, if an employee avails leave on Thursday and Friday is a holiday, if they have worked on Monday, only Thursday is considered as leave.
