Dear HR Members, Guidance is requested urgently, please. My brother has been working for a private firm in the banking sector since December 2012 and has consistently received excellent performance ratings. However, his reporting boss is now harassing him to resign without providing a valid reason. Due to the intolerable level of harassment he is facing, my brother has decided to submit his resignation. The company is now requesting him to serve a 45-day notice period. I would appreciate your guidance on whether the company can withhold his salary after the notice period has been served. Thank you for your assistance.

Salary cannot be withheld under any circumstances. Secondly, his boss cannot put pressure on him to resign without giving reasons. In such a case, ask him to hold on and not resign. If anyone is terminated without justifiable reasons, the termination can be challenged.
