We wrongly made provisions and payments for bonuses. For the past 2-3 years, we have been paying bonuses to our employees. However, this year, we mistakenly paid bonuses only to our longstanding employees and failed to make provisions for and pay the new employees who have been with us for the last 6 months.

What should we do? Please help us.

Understanding the Bonus Act

Please go through the Bonus Act. As per the act, you should pay a bonus even to employees who have worked for 30 days or more. Therefore, whether you have made provisions or not, you need to pay the bonus as there is no other alternative.
