ECR Transaction Issue from March 2012

We have started the ECR transaction from March 2012 onwards and have paid all contributions until September 2012 within the stipulated time. Now, we have identified a problem with the ECR upload starting from March 2012. We have realized that we incorrectly detailed the contributions.

Details of the Issue

The issue at hand is that the Employer contribution (3.67%) should have been deposited in account no. 01, while the Employees' Pension Contribution (8.33%) should have been deposited in account no. 10. However, in the ECR transaction, we mistakenly stated that the employer contribution amount (3.67%) was deposited into the Employees' Pension account (A/c No. 10). Similarly, the employee pension amount (8.33%) was deposited into the Employer contribution account (A/c No. 01).

Please provide your valuable suggestions on how to rectify this problem.

The problem you faced has also been encountered by one of my clients. They, too, made the same mistake—paying the EPF into the EPS Account and vice versa. We approached the EPFO, and the senior programmer there informed us that currently, there is no way to adjust the amount if it has already been paid and the CRN Number is generated. Only if the amount is not yet paid can the dues be changed by rejecting the ECR online. They mentioned that not only these types of issues but many other complaints are being received, and they have referred the matter to their Head Office for further amendment in the online process. They said that since it is not a small problem, it will take some time to be corrected or implemented. Until then, you should inform your concerned office Accounts Branch with sufficient proof for information and future reference.

Prior to digitization, contributions were adjusted in the following month. Now, as it is programmed, such possibilities are common due to human error or insufficient knowledge of the payment process to EPFO. It can only be resolved at the connected RPFO, please represent.

Finally, they may come with a suggestion to adjust; it is the only solution appearing before us.

I asked them, i.e., RPFO. However, they mentioned that there is currently no way to rectify the problem. So, what can I do? Can you please advise if there is any good result to rectify this issue?
