All employers in Maharashtra are required to intimate their Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Tax Deduction Account Number (TAN) under the Income Tax Act to the registering authority under the Profession Tax Act by the latest 30.11.2012. Furthermore, all employers proposing to make an application for enrollment have to provide this information in their application.

Thank you very much for your posting. In Maharashtra, the Government issues many notifications, notices, circulars, and guidelines with certain compliance deadlines at times. However, the concerned departments and their officers are often unaware of such notifications, notices, circulars, and guidelines.
The Maharashtra Public Trusts (MPT) department, specifically the Sales Tax department among others, lacks knowledge on various developmental issues.
I hope the above comments of mine do not amount to any offense. Only GOD knows...???
