Managing Compensatory Leave in Employee Register: HR Guidance - CiteHR

I am currently working as an Admin Incharge, but I am also interested in handling HR responsibilities. Could you please provide guidance on how to maintain the leave register along with compensatory leave? Our company offers only 24 leaves per year.

Maintaining Leave and Compensatory Off Registers

Leave registers are solely for maintaining leave records and should not be combined with compensatory off records. For compensatory offs, a separate register must be maintained. When an employee is required to work on a holiday, the compensatory off is first credited to their account. When they avail of it, it is debited. This method allows for a separate and clear record, enabling better control over compensatory offs.
