Hello,

I am a management student. I have an assignment to complete that requires me to interview an HR manager. Could you please assist me by providing questions that I could ask? I need to formulate at least 10 well-structured questions for this purpose.

Your help is greatly appreciated. I am eagerly waiting for your valuable suggestions.

Regards.

Hi Nishant,

As an HR manager, you should know the basic Acts of PF, ESIC, Labor Act, Minimum Wages Act, Bonus Act, etc.

1. PF rules: Understand how to calculate PF and the contributions of both employees and employers.
2. ESI Rules: Learn how to calculate both employee and employer contributions.
3. What actions would you take if an accident occurred to an employee on the premises?
4. Bonus Act: Familiarize yourself with how to calculate bonuses and what ex gratia means.
5. How can you calculate labor efficiency?
6. How would you propose to motivate our workmen?
7. What would you do if the Union leader shouted at you in front of the workmen?
8. Who is considered a protected employee?
9. Differentiate between PL, CL, Sick Leave, and Maternity Leave as per the Labor Act.
10. What data do you need to store in the computer about an employee?

I hope this helps! Let me know if you need further clarification or assistance.

Dear VPBK2001,

Sir,

You have posted a very nice Key Result Area (KRA) of an HR Manager here. I kindly request if you could provide proper definitions for the following points as mentioned: Sr. No. 3, 5, 6, 7, 8. This would greatly help us prepare for any upcoming interviews.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Thank you,

Harinder Singh

Dear All,

We are here to help each other, but I have a feeling that with the trainees, we should guide and not spoon-feed. If, at this stage, we are spoon-feeding, what will the person do in an independent assignment, especially when nobody is available to assist for some reason or another? Ideally, he should have formulated some questions, and we should have corrected them and advised accordingly.

This is my personal feeling, and no offense is meant for anybody. With due regards to all.
