I'm trying to convey my problem. If you do not understand what I am trying to tell you, please forgive me. I have studied in a Bengali medium.

I'm very weak in English and cannot understand how to improve my spoken English. Many people suggest that I read newspapers aloud, watch English news, and movies. I follow the above suggestions too, but the big problem is that sometimes I suffer from frustration. I stop practicing all these things and think that I will not be able to improve in spoken English. One more thing, I attend many interviews but do not get any chances because of my weak communication. Please suggest how I can solve my problem.

Hi Sahelly, try joining a good Toastmasters Club. The club's objective is to build good English speakers. Use Google to find out if there is any club near your place, and try to choose a good one to join. They might ask you to pay some registration fees.

How Toastmasters Works

Let me explain how it works: once you join, you will be given a topic to present before the audience. You will have one week to prepare, and you have the liberty to choose your own topic. When you present, they will correct you on the spot and keep motivating you to improve.

Initially, you may find it difficult, but as you proceed with confidence, you will overcome your communication problems. I believe that to develop our skills, we need to be in the right place with the right people. You will also have the opportunity to meet many people from different companies at various levels, which will help you find a job more quickly.

Hope this helps.

Hariharan
