Navigating Career Transition to HR Generalist: Insights on HR Operations and Training - CiteHR

Hi All, Greetings! This is Chandra Shekar. I have completed an MBA in HR and a B.Tech in ECE, with 2 years of experience as an IT Recruiter. I want to transition into an HR generalist role. Please guide me on the future aspects.

Areas to Enhance in HR Operations

Which areas in "HR operations" do I need to enhance? What would be beneficial for strengthening my profile?

Thanks,
Chandra

An HR Generalist is mainly involved in every aspect, such as Recruitments (Talent Acquisition), Employee Engagement, Training and Development (T&D), Performance Management System (PMS), Payroll, Statutory requirements, etc. On the other hand, HR operations focus primarily on the overall development of the organization, including job detailing, quality at work, project management, Six Sigma, etc.

It's your turn to understand that you have to learn from the basics to shine. Good luck!

Is It Preferable to Take Training in the Generalist Area?

Is it preferable to take training in the Generalist area? I mean, there are so many institutes providing training in various HR activities like Core HR, Payroll, etc. Please let me know as I'm also looking for a job change into a generalist profile (currently working as a recruiter).

Regards.
