I have worked for a company for 2 and a half years and now I have moved to a different organization. Now I want to withdraw PF from my account. Only 3 years have been completed since the PF account was created. Will any tax be deducted on my PF amount if I withdraw it now? Somebody told me that if I withdraw the PF amount before 5 years from the date of opening the account, 30% tax will be deducted on the PF amount. Can somebody provide clarification on this?

Dear friend,

PF can be withdrawn by filling up Form No. 19 (PF) and 10C (EPS). Other forms, as required, will be filled out by your HR Department. Furthermore, no tax will be deducted on your withdrawal. You may fill out the forms approximately 3 months after leaving the service.
