IT professionals are not Laborers. So, it is required that an IT company registered under the Shops & Establishments Act declare May 1st (Labor Day) as Holiday.

Hello, it is not question of labour. The day is celebrated for those who work under someone. I think you are Owner of the Company that might be reason that do’t like this day....?

Here, what you need to understand first is the definition of the term "labour." Professionals also fall under the definition of "workman." The law is equal for all humans; it is humans who think themselves superior to other human beings.

Is it mendatory to give holiday on 1st may for labour/workers. Is it as per any act or it deoands on company to company?
