Please let me know what the returns are under the Factory Act of 1948. I am newly joining the manufacturing industry, and my boss has assigned me to take care of all returns annually, as well as half-yearly returns and all statutory compliances.
Please provide me with information on this, including the relevant form numbers.

Dear Arya,
Below stated information will help you:
(A) Factory Act:
1. Form No. 20 - Annual return to be filed before 15th January.
2. Form No. 21 - Half-Yearly return to be filed before 15th July.
(B) PF Act:
1. Form 5 & 10 (Qualifying & Leaving employees).
Form 12A - Consolidated statement of dues and remittance to be submitted by the 25th of every month.
2. Form 3A & 6A - Members & consolidated statement annual return to be filed before 30th April.
(C) Bonus:
1. Form D - Return to be filed for Bonus, within 30 days after the expiry of the time limit specified in the Bonus Act.
(D) Contract Labour Act:
1. Form XXV (25) - Annual Return by Principal Employer to be sent to the registering officer before 15th February (following the end of the year).

Returns forms (yearly, half-yearly, PF, Contract labor, etc.) are the same as mentioned above but may vary according to the state. I would like to inquire specifically about Uttarakhand as I am currently working there as an HR Executive. Could you please provide clarification on this matter?

Further on the Factory Acts, you may have to submit the following:
- Form V: List of holidays - once a year - due every December 31.
- Half-yearly returns in Form 21 - due July.
- Annual returns in Form 20 - due January 31.
- Renewal of factory license - due every October.
- Maintenance of statutory registers like Form 2, 12, VI, II, 26, 26A, inspection registers, etc.
- Form 18: In case of any industrial accidents. 18b: Further report of accidents.
- Form 3A: Change of manager.
- Form XXV: Returns for contract labor and so on.

Dear All,
We have the Head Office at Bangalore and Regional Office at Mumbai. We do not deduct Professional Tax (PT) from employees, and we don't have a PT registration number in Maharashtra. We have more than 200 employees on our payroll. Is there any provision for not deducting PT from employees' salaries? Please suggest.
