We are a mid-sized company located in Bangalore. We depute our engineers to clients' places for installation work within India as well as abroad. The company takes care of employees' accommodation, traveling, and food expenses. Along with this, we also pay a daily onsite allowance.
Daily Onsite Allowance Suggestions
Please suggest to me what the daily onsite allowance should be for engineers:
- Who are deputed to clients' places within India
- Who are deputed to clients' places abroad for a shorter duration (On Business Visa)
Please provide the approximate figure, as I am in the process of designing the onsite policy.

As you are already paying for accommodation, travel, and food expenses, there may be a small amount of other expenses. The daily allowance varies from company to company and depends on the nature of the business as well as the management's decision. It is advisable to seek advice from your management.
In any case, you can keep in mind an allowance of Rs. 100/- to 150/- for employees in India. I have no idea about the personnel deployed abroad.
