Hi all!

I need help with the process of resigning from my company in Dubai Free Zone. I have only completed 6 months and would like to resign due to a family emergency in my country.

Please explain the process for the cancellation of my visa and provide information on the following queries:

1. Do I need to give a 30-day notice before I can leave? My reason is an emergency, and I would like to resign immediately. What will be the consequence if I do not complete the 30 days?

2. Who will cover my plane ticket and cancellation fees?

3. Do I need to pay anything to my employer for not completing at least 1 year?

4. Will I receive any gratuity pay for my 5 months of work?

Note: Honestly, my company doesn't have a good management system. There are no policies, which is why I don't know what to expect from them.

Hoping for your help.

Kindest regards,

It is mentioned in the contract that the probation period is 3 months, maximum of 6 months. Also, if you didn't complete the two years, you should pay the employer 10,000 DHS; it could decrease or increase.

My question is, am I still in the probation period? How can I take an immediate resignation?

Media City follows the Ministry of Law.

In case the employee wants to resign before completing his probationary period, he can do so (Media City contract clause 2).

However, if you have already completed your probationary period and want to resign, you need to give one month's notice. If you can't provide the notice, you will need to pay that amount to the company.

Additionally, you will be charged for your visa cost as per labor law article 116 because you didn't complete one year.

Finally, the company won't provide you with a ticket as it's a resignation from your side (Labor Law article 131).
