Dear All,

My query pertains to my employees, all of whom have been working with us for the last 10 to 12 years. Recently, we transitioned our business from a partnership firm to a private limited company. I would like to know, from an HR perspective, what formalities or procedures I should initiate. Can anybody assist me with this matter? It is urgent.

Thanks,
Pramod S.

Dear Pramod,

Since you didn't mention anything about a name change in the company, I presumed that along with the merger, the name must be changed. The following changes need to be made:

1. Issue transfer letters to all employees regarding the change in the company name, transfer of service conditions, and any salary changes or lack thereof.
2. Update the name in PF, factory license, ESIC, etc.
3. If there are any long-term settlements with the union, inform them that the conditions in the LTS will remain unchanged in the new entity.

Dear Pramod,

Sorry, I don't have any transfer format on hand. You can refer to the book "Forms & Precedents" available in shops where labor laws are available. There are many formats and drafts available in the book.
