Hi Friends,
My cousin completed his BCA and began working as a contract employee in a company. His contract was extended for 2 years, and he now has a total of 2 years of work experience. He was pursuing a Correspondence MCA alongside his job. My questions are:
- Can his experience be counted since he was a contract employee with no salary slip and used to receive salary by cheque?
- If he needs to provide proof of experience for a new job, what documents besides the joining letter and experience letter will be required?
- If he secures a new job, what other employee verifications may be conducted?
- Would his experience, combined with his MCA (correspondence), be considered valid?
Please share your valuable suggestions.

Hello bkr_82,
Yes, he can count his experience since he was doing his MCA through correspondence. Please cross-check if it was through a valid and recognized University. Since he was receiving his salary through cheques, he can use his Bank Statements, in addition to the Experience letter, for proof of salary. Most IT companies accept this form of proof.
For additional experience proof, he can provide some references from any of the current employees where he has worked so far—perhaps his direct boss will be the best.
Be prepared for background checks on his employment—if everything was above board, you don't have to worry about this aspect.
