Congratulations on your new job responsibilities.
I could suggest two books. I am referring to them and find them to be good:
1. "Training and Development: A Complete Handbook" by Anthony Landale
2. "Beyond Training and Development" (includes a CD) by William J. Rothwell

Hey Shalini...
Congrats and good luck! 😄 I would suggest "Awaken the Giant Within" by Anthony Robbins. It's a brilliant book, a must-read. Even the De Bono books are very helpful; they provide you with different tools like provocation (PO!), lateral thinking, then six thinking hats. All these are very good ones to read. Also, one book called "The HR Champions."
But I strongly recommend you to read "Awaken the Giant Within."
Hope it helps.

Hi to all,
Hope you all are fine. I just want to ask if any of the above-mentioned resources are available online? If yes, please share them with us as people here share very good books. This way, we can maximize our resources because buying books can be very expensive, and these books are not always available in libraries.
I recently read a book on the topic of employee training and development by Raymond A. Noe. I found it easy and interesting, especially for beginners.

Hi,
For training, both theory and practice, one of the best authors (in my humble opinion) is Leslie Rae. His writing is detailed and simple to follow. If you Google his name along with books, you should get a good list. If you don't, let me know, and I will dig into my collection :)
Another definite read for you is "Emotional Intelligence" and "Working with Emotional Intelligence," both by Daniel Goleman. Don't waste time and money looking at other authors on this subject.
And yes!!! Please read Edward de Bono's books. They are excellent. For communication skills, you can pick up (and build a session from there) the book "How to have a Beautiful Mind." It's a jargon-free book, if there ever was one.
Also, "Transactional Analysis" by Thomas Harris M.D. and NLP books by Richard Bandler, John Grinder, or Joseph O'Connor.
Try "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu or "Arthashastra" by Chanakya. Both are excellent books on strategy and leadership. Also, books by Charles Handy and Peter Drucker.
This should do for now to give you a few sleepless nights. :?
