Hello augustya,
As per the Factory Act, it is essential to provide a weekly day of rest after 48 working hours to each individual employee employed under any establishment. If someone is called to work on Sunday, which is a declared holiday, then the employee is entitled to avail one compensatory day of rest in lieu of working on Sunday or the holiday. The compensatory day of rest must be taken within 3 months from the date of working on Sunday or the holiday. It is mandatory for the employer.
