can u tell me the difference b/w hr management and hr development... heard that it is a common question in intrviews

I am trying to initiate in answering this question, and the rest of the points hopefully will be pooled in by our HR team. I believe HR management is the sole responsibility of the HR Department, whereas HR development is a broader concept and goes beyond the scope of HR professionals. It also includes line managers who need to keep developing their team members on a timely basis.

Scope of HRM

Establish, direct, administer, and coordinate the overall HR programs for all the departments of the company. Strategically plan for, develop, and efficiently/effectively operate the services and capabilities of the company, in alignment with the corporate objectives/strategies. These activities include:

HRD is an element of HRM.

Many of the activities of HRM/HRD can be carried out in-house but can also be outsourced.
