Dear all CiteHR members,
I work in an HR consulting firm, and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) is one of its major services. We have been providing this service to many organizations. As part of this service, we have incorporated a written test. The written test is entirely objective type. Candidates are required to answer the questions on a separate answer sheet. The answer sheet contains question numbers and four choices in a circular form. Candidates must mark their answers by darkening the circle corresponding to their choice. So far, we have been manually grading these answer sheets. I have heard that there are techniques available to facilitate the grading process more efficiently.
I am interested in discovering this easier method for grading the answer sheets. Can you provide guidance on this?

To efficiently grade objective type tests in your HR consulting firm, you can consider implementing Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology. OMR software can scan and automatically grade answer sheets based on the marked circles, saving time and reducing errors. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you implement this solution:
1. Research OMR Software: Look for reputable OMR software providers that offer solutions tailored to grading objective type tests. Ensure the software is user-friendly and compatible with your current systems.
2. Design Answer Sheets: Create standardized answer sheets with clear instructions for candidates on how to mark their answers. Ensure the layout is compatible with the OMR software for accurate scanning.
3. Conduct Test Runs: Before using the OMR software for actual grading, conduct test runs to validate its accuracy and efficiency. Make any necessary adjustments to the answer sheet design or software settings.
4. Scan Answer Sheets: Once the candidates have completed the test, use the OMR software to scan the answer sheets. The software will automatically read and grade the marked responses.
5. Review Results: Verify the graded results generated by the OMR software to ensure accuracy. Address any discrepancies or errors promptly to maintain the integrity of the grading process.
By adopting OMR technology, your HR consulting firm can streamline the grading process for objective type tests, allowing you to focus on more strategic HR initiatives.
