Hi Mishal,
To qualify for the UGC NET, you must have a master's degree. You can choose any subject from your master's degree for the exam. The UGC NET consists of three papers:
1) General studies (50 objective questions)
2) Your optional paper (50 objective questions)
3) Your optional paper (subjective questions)
The second paper will be checked only after qualifying the first paper, and the third paper will be checked after qualifying the second paper. Therefore, it is essential to qualify in the first and second papers.

There are several things you need to consider before applying for the UGC NET exam. First and most importantly, you must have completed your master's degree from a UGC-recognized institute or college. You must have scored a minimum of 55% marks in your master's degree, among other requirements. For a full list, you can check out this website.
