I have recently joined a company as an HR Manager where there is no HR department. I would like to set up the HR Department, so I request you to kindly help me out. Please, it's urgent.

Hi,

The setup of the HR department depends on the type of company, the total manpower at present and proposed growth, and the management philosophy and policy. Assuming that you can get clarity on the above, any HR department would have to incorporate the following functions at least:

1. Selection & Recruitment
2. Payroll
3. Training and Development

As the setup grows, other more specialized functions like OD, IR, etc., would come into play.
