Hi friends, my name is Sudharshan, but it was changed from Sarathy to Sudharshan after I completed my 10th standard. This change was legally addressed in the gazette before my 12th grade, and all other certificates thereafter carry the name Sudharshan. However, my community certificate and 10th-grade certificate still bear the name Sarathy.

Issue with Name Change Acceptance

Recently, I wanted to apply for a course at the Regional Labour Institute in Chennai. They have stated in the application form that a change of name is not permitted. If the gazette change is legally recognized, why isn't it accepted by the RLI in Chennai? I have attached the application form for your reference.

When I inquired in person, they informed me that my application would not be considered. What should I do? Please advise.

Regards,
Sudharshan
