Hi Rajesh,

In my opinion, the career objective does not sound strong enough, and what's most important is frequently changing jobs. If you write the time span in front of the organization's name instead of at the end, it will be more helpful.

Thank you.

my opinion : If I was a HR, 4 pages of reume` will "Exhaust" me a little bit. That gives no first impression to a HR....

in two years he has worked for 3 companies, & looking out for 4th one. Frequency of changing job is too high with this resume & that to a managerial post... It may be the key reason to get rejected.

As per my view, his first job is Area Sales Manager, No such company will give first job as Manager?

Thank you for the inputs. I have some counter questions.

My first job started as an Area Sales Manager since the organization did not have a presence in Kerala, and the designation was given because they had only one resource in Kerala. What should I do? Should I not mention the designation due to frequent changes? I wanted to move to retail, therefore joined Subiksha after one year, but unfortunately, Subiksha closed down. Should that be mentioned in my CV?

I then joined the next company but had to quit due to family circumstances.

I need your help in revising the CV.

In my view, using different fonts in any letter or communication creates a negative impression. Additionally, the headers appear excessively large compared to the font size of the main content. A resume should be well-presented with consistent font sizes and styles. Please arrange it according to the feedback provided above.

I would rather say, put the note for Subhiksha as it was not your fault whereas for the 3rd company change, you have to elaborate during the interview. For Area Sales Manager, I don't think it should give a problem for a company as everyone knows in and out. But yes, make the resume presentable. About the length of the resume, Pages are sufficient, but include more of your roles and responsibilities, reports you made, work you supervised.

1) Try to limit your CV to a maximum of two pages.
2) Remove any redundant information, such as repeating club work experience and previous work experiences.
3) Correct all grammatical errors. You can easily do this by using the autocorrect option in MS Word.
4) Maintain a consistent style throughout your resume.

Why don't you try not putting the end date in the last company worked. At least you would get some calls from other organizations or agencies. You could mention the reasons to them when you speak to them. Many recruitment agencies just reject candidates without even speaking to them or knowing the reasons, even if the candidate is really good. This is just a way to increase your chances of getting calls and having interviews arranged at least. With your skills, you could succeed in the interview if you are truly good enough.

The resume is not presentable. Also frequest change of jobs. Definitely, seem to be a stability issue.

As per my view, the resume format needs to be changed, including the fonts and headings. The period of joining should be mentioned below the company profile, followed by duties and responsibilities. Try to write your own points instead of copying and pasting. Limit your CV to two pages only.

Hi, I feel frequent shifting is a major problem. Minor changes could be made to clarify career objectives, specifying the type of niche in the field of marketing to attract. There is a problem with the presentation; run-on paragraphs could be simplified into bullet points where possible to save the reader's time. Also, consider including language proficiency levels in terms of reading, writing, and speaking.

All the best - hope this is helpful.

Just go through the CV in detail and notice one thing: the said person has been looking for a job for the last few months. Hopefully, all of you have noticed that during his total tenure, he has not stayed in a company for more than a year. Sometimes, he has changed his job within 4 months. In his position, it does not leave a good impression. Frequent job changes have a negative impact on his career.

Another point to consider is that while he may be qualified, a 4-page CV is too long. As we all know, HR managers generally do not accept CVs that exceed 2 pages. The CV should provide details but should also adhere to the recommended length, which is not the case in the quoted CV.

It is important to maintain a balance between providing detailed information and being concise. If there are any mistakes in my assessment or if I have overlooked anything, please feel free to point them out. I am also eager to learn from any errors I may have made.

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out why the attached profile will get rejected in the screening process. This person has been looking for a job for the last 9 months. I would appreciate your advice.

1) The frequent changes in employment (not more than one year in any of the previous experiences) can be one of the reasons.
2) His career objective is not very clear.
3) Maybe his attempt to find placement in the retail industry can be another reason.

Thanks

Hi Dear,

Sarah is right. Stability issues - he keeps changing his company every month and year. Maybe his personal problems were there, but the company won't understand his problem while screening his resume.

You need to spell check your CV before you send to prospective employers. The fonts are different, layout is not proper. You need to redo the whole CV - make it precise and short

Hey, don't you know the job market was in a pathetic condition? Change the keywords if you're subscribing to any job portals. Everything is fine. You had a genuine reason for a job change. The company closed, so what can you do? There are no loyalty issues. You had a good start. The situation will change for the better, and then you can talk about how you survived the worst times and how patiently/impatiently you overcame that. Keep hunting.

Regards

Hi!

First and foremost, I don't think it is about the frequently changing jobs or the style, font, or format of the resume that is the problem. Sometimes (read it as most of the times), it is the perception of the onlooker that matters.

1. It would definitely strike someone that there has been a frequent change of jobs, but with no change of profile, which can always be attributed to the individual's grip on the field of work opted.

2. Agreed to a certain extent that the font, style, and format do matter because nowadays we have an increasing number of automated resume screening processes rather than the manual one where the essence of the document is lost, and only the keywords are picked up.

3. The most appealing point is that it says, "Has an ability to rectify his own mistakes and is willing to learn at every step in life." How many of us would actually dare to put something like this on our resume, let alone the fact if it were actually required or not.

If I were to come across a resume like this, I would definitely love to have interviewed such an individual.

Wishing him all luck!

The resume is not at all impressive for a viewer. A candidate with retail exposure should add more consecutive points and also address consistency issues. Moreover, the retail industry has not started hardcore recruitments after the crisis.

The CV needs reframing. Career objective - omit it. Polish the language. Put the personal information like address on the left. Photo on the left. Please don't paste the photo at all. Skill sets should be presented concisely. Area of interest is not highlighted. The CV lacks a sense of confidence. Seek help from websites that can guide you on using the right words on Google.
