An employee has contributed an additional amount to PF. However, the Employer is only contributing 12%. Can you tell me what the procedures are to update this increase in employee contribution? Do we have to submit any additional forms in this regard either at the time of remittance or filing returns?

Employee can contribute more than 12% voluntarily, but the employer can restrict their contribution to 12%. An employee willing to contribute more than the statutory rate of contribution should provide a written request to the HR department. When the returns are prepared, they will update it, and the employee's statement of account will reflect any additional contributions made by them.
