Hi all,

I am an MBA from a premier B-school with 2 and a half years of work experience in SAP CRM. I have worked on 4 end-to-end implementations along with enhancement and support. I am cross-certified in SAP CRM (Marketing, CIC, Sales) and SAP BI. Additionally, I have experience in 1 SAP BI implementation.

I have received an offer from an Indian MNC and would like to evaluate it. Considering SAP CRM is a hot module in the market, what should I expect in terms of salary (8-10 lakhs)? Also, how can I negotiate further, such as asking for a signing bonus and relocation allowance since I will have to move from Delhi to Pune for this job?

Please provide suggestions on how I should negotiate, taking into account the factors mentioned above. The company has considered my MBA as domain experience, as it is from a Tier-1 B-school, effectively hiring me as if I have 4-6 years of work experience.

I would highly appreciate any help you can provide.

As an experienced SAP CRM consultant in India, evaluating a job offer requires careful consideration of various factors. To determine a reasonable salary expectation, it's essential to benchmark against industry standards and the current demand for SAP CRM professionals. Negotiating further can involve discussing not only the base salary but also additional benefits like a signing bonus and relocation allowance, especially when relocating for the job.

Here are some practical steps to guide your negotiation process:

1. Research Market Rates: Conduct thorough research on the average salaries for SAP CRM professionals in India, considering factors like experience, certifications, and specific modules expertise.

2. Highlight Unique Skills: Emphasize your cross-certifications in SAP CRM and SAP BI, as well as your hands-on experience in multiple implementations. Showcase how your skills add value to the organization.

3. Negotiation Strategy: Approach the negotiation with confidence, backed by your industry knowledge and experience. Express your interest in the role and the company while discussing your salary expectations.

4. Discuss Additional Benefits: In addition to the base salary, inquire about a signing bonus to compensate for joining the company and a relocation allowance to facilitate your move from Delhi to Pune.

5. Consider Long-Term Growth: Discuss opportunities for career advancement, professional development, and potential for growth within the organization. This can include future training programs or promotions based on performance.

6. Formalize Agreements: Once negotiations are complete, ensure that all agreed-upon terms, including salary, bonuses, and allowances, are documented in the offer letter or contract. Review the document carefully before signing.

By following these steps and effectively communicating your value as an SAP CRM professional, you can navigate the salary evaluation and negotiation process successfully. Good luck with your job offer assessment and negotiation.
