I have been interviewed by a big MNC for an engineer position. I went through telephonic and face-to-face rounds of interviews. During the HR round, they mentioned that they would conduct the salary negotiation the day after the weekend. When that day arrived, they asked me to fill out a candidate form and return it, which I did.
Later that day, I reached out to inquire about the status. Their response was, "Hi... a few interviews are already lined up; we will confirm with you after the festival." This was because there were four days of festival holidays following the next day.
This position needs to be filled on short notice, within 15 days, which is why I followed up. I am eager to know whether the company is genuinely considering offering me the position or if it was just an excuse.

The recruitment process in MNCs is a lengthy one that involves many individuals. Within this chain, if a person is unavailable, the matter remains pending at that level. Additionally, even though they have stated the vacancy needs to be filled within fifteen days, they may not have a critical need to do so promptly.
Lastly, it is a common practice among MNCs, whether Indian or otherwise, to prolong or procrastinate on matters, creating an emergency-like situation and then acting hastily. This scenario might also occur in your case. Therefore, my advice is to be patient and wait.
