Kindly guide me on how I can settle the claim if someone met with an accident (died on the spot) on his first day of employment in any industry. Is it possible to provide him accident benefits through both ESIC and PF?

Dear Santosh,
It totally depends on the intention of management and how they wish to react to the issue. Otherwise, as per the act, if any employee joins the organization, the risk coverage starts from the day of joining depending on the salary range falling under mandatory benefits. For example, under ESI, the salary should be less than Rs. 10,000 per month to be covered, and in PF, if the basic is less than Rs. 6,500 per month, then it is covered. If it exceeds that amount, it is not mandatory.
