I am new in the HR field and recently joined the industry. I have been assigned a task of calculating arrears for the workers. The management has decided to give increments in September 2009, and I need to calculate arrears from April 2009 to August 2009.
Please assist me by providing any format or formula to calculate arrears.

Arrears would be calculated as the difference between the existing per month salary and the proposed per month salary multiplied by the number of months for which arrears are to be paid. If different components of the salary structure have been revised separately, calculations would be done separately for each component.

I am working as an HR Assistant, and I want to know the details regarding the following:
Our company has decided to give an 8% increment on the gross salary effective from OCT-2009 to MAR-2010. We revised the salary accordingly in Feb-2010. We now need to calculate arrears for 4 months. Please let me know if I should consider the LOP while calculating the arrears for 4 months.
