It is mentioned in my offer letter that I cannot indulge in any part-time, full-time, or temporary employment along with my present employment without prior written approval of the management. Once I get the approval from management, how will the salary from the part-time job be treated? How will I manage it for income tax purposes?

Pls check your appointment letter it must have clause regarding dual employment. Most of the co. do no permit dual employment.

In India, labor laws restrict dual employment. You cannot hold two jobs simultaneously, unlike countries like Australia and the US, where you can work different shifts in different companies. Moreover, even for temporary or part-time positions, you need to seek permission from your current employer, as most companies prohibit their employees from taking on additional employment. However, if you do so without the company's knowledge, there are usually no issues.

Muthyji IT Act does not bar you from any or multiple occupation. One can even be a smuggler. IT is only concerned that you pay your tax on income. It has nothing to do with 'source'. Regards.

I agree with gaggan shani In India Labour Law restrict 2 employments compare to like US, Australia, but it’s utlising more effeciency grown up, this is my openion Thanks & Regards A.Prasad.

No, sir, I beg to differ. As long as you don't conceal your income and pay taxes properly, the IT Department will not bother you. It is not within their jurisdiction to delve into the legality of the profession of taxpayers. As HR professionals, let us be very clear on that. OK. Regards.
