Hello friends,

The recent buzzword in the HR arena - PCMM (People Capability Maturity Model) is predominantly used in IT industries. Why is it not influencing manufacturing industries? Yes, I can understand that IT is a knowledge-based industry where manpower is given more importance. However, if one wants to develop a concept/theory for PCMM in the manufacturing industry, what are the major areas he has to consider? How and where does it differ from the present PCMM?

Thank you.

Hi,

Who said PCMM is not in manufacturing? We are manufacturing bulk drugs (chemical industry) and we are now at PCMM level 2. We are stepping towards level 5, and the projected time frame for us is 2 years.
