A quick question: Should a company declare a holiday on the day of the election? I got to know that in Karnataka, "in case of general elections to the Lok Sabha and Vidhana Sabha and in case of any by-election, a holiday shall be given to all employees on polling day." Is it mandatory to give a paid holiday? I would appreciate it if someone could clarify my doubts.
