Hi,

There is no particular defined methodology for headhunting. It depends on the recruiter and the way they approach it. Whether it involves finding a telephone number or engaging in a mail transaction, it requires thorough preparation. Headhunting is used to target key members in any organization, especially in senior management positions. This can be achieved through references, formal discussions, or any other method to initiate contact.

I hope this provides you with some insight into your approach.

Thank you,
Raul

Hi Ravi,

Would like to thank Kunal for the ppt.

Let me share some of my thoughts on this :

1. Head Hunting is a proactive approach to find the Talented professionals and network with them to place them for your clients or your company. It is usually done for the skills sets which are difficult to get esp for the senior positions – hence a talent which is not easily available and targets the passive job seekers or those profiles are not available in the job portals.

2. Best way to find out the best professionals is to check the market & references, if you are looking for a top notch sales professional in FMCG sector for your client then the people in the market, distributors, retailers & stockists etc would give information on that . Yes its a bit of a leg work but that's the best way to hunt the professionals.

Or check with Technical institutes which conduct the Talent test or invite students to solve the relevant problems..

Use tools like Linkedin or attend the technical seminars & network with your contacts to frame the Organization structure and build a database of your own.

3. Once done, plan the way to approach them in a subtle manner. Meet them if possible as don't limit your approach to phone calls. Assess them and keep their profiles with you.

4. It's a High Relationship based and trust is very essential.

5. If you find something lacking in them, tell them subtlely as you want them to rise in the Corporate World. Frankly not many consultants do that and the professionals feel they are just the products in the hands of Head Hunters/consultants.

6. Network & network and make the potential list , keep track of their performances, read everything about the Industry.

7. Present them to your clients or your company if you feel that it would be a cultural fit and meet the clients future plans & potential of the candidates.

Best wishes,

Headhunting is a process used to recruit senior professionals in any type of organization, regardless of the sector, category, or industry in which they work.

If you could do some groundwork, such as identifying target companies and mapping their hierarchy based on functional areas.

There are two methods to conduct headhunting:

The easier way is to approach a junior candidate from the target company in the same functional area and discuss a false opening to gather information on the reporting structure. This allows you to understand the hierarchical structure of the company, enabling you to call the board line and inquire about the relevant person.

Another method is to call the target company's board line and request to be connected to the department of interest. While speaking to the concerned person, share some false stories to engage them and inquire about the Head of Department (HOD) and reporting structure.

Once you have the names and designations, call the board line again and ask to be connected to the relevant person. Upon connecting, seek permission to discuss the opportunity and proceed accordingly.
