Hi,
Can anyone tell me what exactly internal recruitment is? Is it something like recruiting people you know... or people that are related to your employees?
If yes, then can you please tell me how it is beneficial to employee relations? How will it boost employee morale or satisfy your employees and improve employee relations? Are they linked?
Regards

Hi,
Internal recruitment is when you recruit someone from within the organization to fill your vacancies, as opposed to external recruiting, i.e., recruiting from the open market. This is done by looking at the candidates from your current resources and checking their suitability to fill the said positions.
How it will improve employee relations is that it gives the staff an opportunity for a career change and also the possibility of progression/promotions if the vacancies are of a higher grade. If you work for a unionized company, internal recruitment does help with industrial relations since external recruitment can be seen as depriving the workforce of opportunities.
If you're looking to improve employee relations, then internal resources should be the first consideration when planning for recruitment, unless there are no suitable/qualified candidates or the positions are temporary in nature.
Hope that helps.
Rgds.
