Let's be clear on this: Lagos is not the safest place to work in Africa, i.e., it is dangerous even by African standards. If you are going to work there, go only if you are being offered a substantial pay package, which is usually the norm, with adequate security guarantees. Kidnappings and road jackings are a common occurrence, and black neighborhoods are dangerous, to say the least. Don't go anywhere unaccompanied, be in regular touch with the Indian embassy, and stay in a place with a concentration of the Indian populace; you'll find many Indians there. The legal system is defunct, and the police are corrupt, so avoid them like the plague. Be on alert at all times, and mind you, this is not scaremongering; I know people who have faced some tough situations there. Finally, be careful with your money; there are many schemes promising you heaven with small investments - don't fall for that EVER. Wishing you a BON VOYAGE.
