Hi All,
I have done PGDHR from Welingkar's and have 2yrs of exp in HR (Recruitments & generalist). Presently am unemployed and am looking forward to attending a crash course in HR which basically deals with the generalist side. Could you please help me with links where i can find these kinda courses?

Boss,

I have sympthy with you for not having employment opportunity but I can guess that this qualification did not offered you proper training to obtain respectable reasonable job opportunity and therefore you lack confidence in your qualification from Welingkar Institute.

May this Institute did not provide enough exposure to the students and prepare for market to sale their skills or rather no skills have been imparted in this Institutes therefore such educatuion Institutes become merely selling only Degree Certificates which are not bringing any employment opportunity to the students from such Institutes.

Welingkar Institutes must be informed and held accountable for spoiling your money, time and career and government shall ban such education institutes which doesnot provide valid feasible education to the students.

Dear colleauges please remember that such Institutes and Candidates who are engaged in buying and selling of education doesnot provide quality education altimately suffer. Its cheating if that education doesnot provide you a competancy and skillsets to yeild greater results.

I think u have got it all wrong here. I at no point am blaming my education from Welingkars. It is only that I want to update myself about the recent HR trends and thus am seeking for a crash course. For your knowledge, I also possess an MBA in HR from an international university. I have found whatever I learnt to be qualitative enough. Thanks for your concern.

my friend,

If you are looking for enhancement of skills and knowledge means you don't have these skill sets and competancies anb your education MBA-HR was mere certification, which did not translet any of HR specialization in your armory to deal with todays HR activities in any organization.


My Masters Degree in PM and IR has offered me all necessary compatencies and skills when I joined my first job as personnel officer in manufacturing industry. I was alone and my erstwhile Personnel Manager, and his team of time keepers and PF Clerk left with him and I replace him alone.

They did not even maintained and filed PF,ESIC returns and I have to desburse salary righte from my first month in the job in addition to preparing wage & salary register, PF,ESIC record, Recruitement, Discipline, face Inspections by Factory Inspectors, Inspectors undeer PF,ESIC, Minimum Wages and attending court cases in same month.

But I never upset and I managed all these with the help of recruting my close friend as my assistant to workout PF,ESIC record under my guidance and Prepare attendance records and wage and Salary register in same month attending office on week ends without any extra remuneration.


All these happen due to my Masters Degree in PM- carriculam provided me enough exposure during internship in understanding the functioning of Personnel Department this has help me to overcome difficult time. Rest of the HRM tricks I learn by my experience by updating my skills in training & development, Disciplinary Actions, Negotiations with Trade Unions, Salary and Wages Settlements and Court Injunctions aginst Strike.


I am writing this all my experience just to explain you that merely adding certification will not enough because expereince play major role in enhancement and building competencies to become mature HR professional.
In the later half of my career, I have completed all training in psychometric test, Motivation, Counseling, Competancy profiling etc because that was not part of HR carriculam in y time. But today if education institutes did not offer training on these HR tools then these kind of education is far behind modern time.
Instead of going for real expereince, you are merely adding some certifications will not be helpful to start career and will waste your valuable time spending to earn only certifications and no experence.

First, try your luck for break thorugh for practical experience. Because my experence tought me that when Quality Circles, ISO, TQM, Six Sigma, People -CMM all these are now history and hardly exist. If you learn something and keep learing without useing knowledge will not yeild any revenue or career. Because life of such HR interventions is very short by the time you learn and ready to practise a new tool replaces old one like Balance Score card. BPR, etc etc and there is no end.

My God Rashid,
Good advice but still not fair enough, as what about those who are not getting a job in this recession period, isn't it better that they keep learning something. Not Every one get's lucky in terms of practical experience. Moreover what ever we learn in books some times it takes years of experience to get to the level where we would have an authority to practice the skills we learned from books.
With due respect advice should not be one sided. It should be fair enough that the person can make some use of it as per the current situation or could be of some benefit immediately. which i guess in case of Mr. Vinodha we both are not sure what is his motivation for learning more and doing some crash course. If we pay attention to his intention we may be able to help him better.

Dear All.
The people when use the public form like this should never mention the institution name or company name on the negative side. This trigers the different response not relevant to the topic or issues raised by the individual.
Today what is abundantely available is free advise without asking. the individual as per the letter has 2 years experience. It is a first step in the long career journey. A smart and sensible individual should know that in any indudstry most of us have to pass through the waiting period with persuasion.
No real academic qualification goes to waste if the person knows how to make use of this in any circumstances.
But unfortunately it is seen that present days younger generation has the urge to move faster with no patience or learning just to make the fast buck. There are exception but it iit is not a rule.

Hi there,
Most of the students were influenced by hearsay that XYZ institute is good and will offer you employment because they provide good education and market value such education. But this gentleman has expressed his frustration in expressing his Institute and link to his unemployment today becasue he believe that he lack competancy, skills and needs to invest time, money and efforts to reinvent HR Management inorder to become worthy enough to get job.
If he is not employed then he must try to become employed first then simultenously try to enhnace some Modern HR tricks to become front runner like Balance Score Card, KPI, Competancy Profiling, Psychometric Test, etc etc.
These are fancy HR tools .
In India most of Employers are mesmerised by the fantacy of these Big Big words.....;)

I guess this certain Mr. Rashid is too hung up about his qualifications and his experience per se in this industry. Well, I believe he should carry on with his job and his so called merits and not waste his time into advising others. We people are trying really hard to move our careers move ahead and unlike you, we need the aid of education. I guess it must have been the 60's when Mr. Rashid started his career and hence is so not in awe of the upcoming HR trends. We on the other hand are more interested in being aligned with the way the market moves. So, please Mr. Rashid, don't waste your precious time in passing useless advices. I ony required to know of institutes which would aid my HR career and make it more resourceful. Thanks for your brilliant speeches which were of no use to me or anyone. I surely will contact you in case I need to zzzzzzzzzzz........
And yes, I never mentioned that my qualifications have not been adequate to what I did in my past work experience. It is only because of the PGD and the MBA that I managed to do what I did. It wasn't cause of any trainer like you to have helped me into achieving what I have. The recession is the only reason to my unemployment.

You seems to be confussed.... Read your post and concern.
Let me open your eyes that HR is not rocket science its an art of managing circumstances in best possible way and means.
These ways and means are not defined processes. There do exist some HR management concepts and they are temporary in adopting market trends and shortlived as I have explained to you earlier how Quality Circles, TQM, ISO-9002, Six Sigma, People -CMM, competency mapping become obsolute today in light of recession and global economic turmoil because these funda has limited utility and life.
Your inexperience is telling your frustration but I appreciate your desire to stand ahead of time. Your this approach will give you success rather than any crash courses. Just try to be practicle and learn all facits of HR and invest time and mind into learing HR, Personnel, Laws, Adminstration skills this will altimately produces results.

Well… Well… its really upset to have such and arrogant fiery conversations on a social site like this. Seems CiteHR users are slowly forgetting or not even bothered about the terms & conditions that they agree with while signing up on citeHR!!!!
CITEHR IS A PLATFORM FOR ALL HR PROFESSIONALS(whether beginners or extensively experienced!) TO DISCUSS QUERIES; SHARE KNOWLEDGE AND ENHANCE SKILLSETS IN AN AMICABLE WAY!
The rude conversations of Mr. Rashid have evidently proved that he’s unable to study and understand the situation in different perspectives. Hope, Mr. Rashid would come out of this and try to behave courteously while interacting with others.
And… of course, Ms. Vinodha, I understand your situation to receive such an embarrassing and unwanted advice over your query from a person who seem to have a least commonsense.
