Need insights on the pressing issues
Is women required to change her surname after marrage to have same surname as of husband so that here is no legal hassle to settle pf ppf gratuity pension issue.
I have been told mant times in office today f married the women shd hv husband's surname or will land in legal hassle to settle her masters. Can any one suggest

To the best of my knowledge THERE IS NO SUCH LEGISLATION that female employee should change the surname to get statutory benefits as nominee of her husband.
However after Marriage if a female employee is changing her surname once for all out of her own willingness, it would be advisable to make the change through gazette notification and effect the changes in all records right from ID/address proof to name as per bank account. This would avoid future complications during claim process.
