Hi Anuj,

The permits and documentation required for residential construction can vary based on your location and local regulations. It's essential to consult with your local building department to ensure compliance with specific requirements in your area. However, here's a general list of permits and registers commonly associated with residential construction:

Permits:
Building Permit: Typically required for new construction, alterations, and additions to existing structures.

Zoning Permit: Ensures compliance with local zoning regulations and land use codes.

Environmental Permits: Depending on your location, you may need permits related to environmental impact, such as tree removal or protection, wetland protection, etc.

Electrical Permit: Required for electrical work, including wiring and installation of electrical systems.

Plumbing Permit: Necessary for plumbing installations, including water supply and drainage systems.

Mechanical Permit: Needed for HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems.

Demolition Permit: If applicable, required for demolishing existing structures.

Fire Department Permit: Some locations require a permit to ensure compliance with fire safety codes.

Health Department Permit: Depending on the locality, health permits may be required for septic systems or other health-related considerations.

Storm-water Management Permit: To address runoff and erosion control during construction.

Historical Review or Preservation Permits: If the construction site involves a historically significant structure.

Registers and Documentation:

Labor Register: Keep a record of all labor employed on the construction site, including their names, addresses, roles, hours worked, and wages paid.

Safety Records: Document safety training, inspections, and any incidents or accidents on the construction site.

Material and Equipment Register: Keep track of materials and equipment used on-site, including suppliers, quantities, and delivery dates.

Daily Construction Log: Record daily activities, weather conditions, and any issues or changes that occur during construction.

Payroll Records: Maintain records of wages, deductions, and other payroll-related information for all workers.

Inspection Reports: Document inspections conducted by building inspectors or other regulatory authorities.

Contractor Licenses and Certifications: Keep copies of licenses and certifications for all contractors working on the project.

Insurance Documentation: Ensure that all necessary insurance coverage is in place and maintain copies of insurance policies.

Laws and Regulations:

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations: Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Fair Labour Standards Act (FLSA): Adhere to minimum wage and overtime pay regulations.

Building Codes: Follow local building codes and regulations set by the building department.

Environmental Protection Laws: Comply with laws related to environmental protection and sustainability.

Contractor Licensing Laws: Ensure that contractors are licensed and qualified to perform the work.

Workers' Compensation Laws: Comply with regulations related to workers' compensation insurance.

Remember, this is a general guide, and specific requirements can vary. Always consult with local authorities and legal professionals to ensure full compliance with the regulations in your area.

Thanks
