Hi Cite HR,

I had a small query regarding the relieving process. I was under my probation period which was to get finished on 19th December 2021. I resigned on 17th December 2021 via email and got an immediate notification on workday portal about my LWD to be 17th January 2022.
After two hours, on the same day I got my probation confirmation on the portal which was again in 5 months and 28 days.
I just need to clarify if my notice period will still be of 30 days according to my official resignation mail or I will have to serve the period of 90 days?

Hi,

Resignation through mail is considered official.

You have resigned when you are still on probation and the LWD was offered to you. So the offered LWD i.e 17th Jan 22 only will be considered.

The probation confirmation was done later, by the time you are already on your notice period.

Confirm with your HR partner regarding this. They may offer your clarity on the situation.

Sudha Thanks for the response. I have reached out to my HR partner and People, Project manager for the same.

They said in the system called Workday you resigned after completion of probation period.
Not recognize my email bluntly said I need to server 90 days. Could you please guide me What steps I need to take for getting reliving letter ?

Dear Varun,

I hope all these are managed through full fledged Payroll system(Workday). But your probation confirmation must have been initiated by HR partner post confirmation from your project manager.

They are not recognising your resignation letter but that doesn't mean that they can deny any employee's right to resign.

Share all your communication through a mail chronologically to HR, since the probation confirmation was received later they cannot force you to serve the notice period.

But again check your initial appointment order thoroughly for the dates. If order clearly states that your probation period ends by 19th December. You are at no fault.

Without acceptance of resignation and proper notice period the employer will not issue relieving order. So get this sorted out at the earliest.
