Dear HR ppl,

Two years ago, i have walked out of infosys after 3 years of hardwork i put in. I walked out without going through formal relieving procedures, owing to the humiliation i suffered under the management that was not the case for all the time i worked there, i felt i was not supposed to be treated that way. I couldnt handle it and judging by the situation i was at that time i walked out.

AFter two years of following lots of odd jobs to make ends meet, I finally procured two lucrative IT offers from Inautix and TCS which would surely put me back in form, but since i dont have relieving letter from infosys, they dont take me in. Ive told them the truth gave them all the right information without any foul play. including my gap in employment., still they say they cant take me in. I went back to INfosys HR, told them my plea, admitting it was immature and ungentlemanly on my part to depart without formal exit and apologising to them, Yet they stand high and do not heed to one last request. I do not know how exactly to proceed. My family is not wealthy enough for me to proceed with higher education or i could support it with the current income i make. I need a good suggestion from any experienced professional that could help me out here please. and thank you

Infosys is a reputed organisation in India. They may not give you relieving letter as your case is 2 yrs old and you did not complete exit formalities. You can ask for Service Certificate which they are bound to provide on your request letter. Talk to your new employer to consider service certificate in lieu of relieving letter.

I support Pon's view however, few things to be clarified - did you send them a formal resignation letter later ? or have they sent you any communication regarding your absence / job continuity or a termination letter on account of long absence.
There is a way out to this situation ... speak to their HR and close the case.
Wish you all the best !

Hi Pon/Zakir, They have sent me a letter asking to appear as soon as i left the company, but i moved out of the place. I have been talking to the HR at Infosys who is dealing the relieving letters, Ive been so persistent with him to let me have a relieving letter, but he is strong that the policies do not allow it. Iv asked him to atleast issue me a service certificate, but he says he doesnt hav that power and nothing of the exit documents would be handed over to me as per the process, he says. Ive pointblank apologized for my action, admitted it was immature on my part, and my life would go down the drainhole. But he is so stern he cannot help. Iam being so truthful and Ive explained this to my new employers, Ive given them the right dates and right info, but they keep insisting me to produce the relieving letter. Iam resisting all forms of encouragement to produce wrong data or information anywhere and now no one recognises that. It is so hard for me to go through this. Please suggest.
