First of all,can anyone lighten me about the legality of Bond. Is a service bond legally binding contract and do the labour laws permit it ?
Second question is specific to my requirement. I want to employ trainee-employees as per industry practice. Freshers are employed as Trainees and later if there performance and skill grows up to expectation of job, he will be on regular Muster-Roll. Such oon-the-job training costs a lot to employers as they have to spend men-hours, spare facilities to work and give them emoluments equal to Minimum wage with PF/ESI Benefits. Can service bond of 1-2 year or similar terms in appointment letter itself be made obligatory for preventing the successful trainee from running away ? If yes, then in case of breach of bond, can damages be recovered from defaulting employee ?

do one thing
first leave the bond issue and note down the positive and negative points(SWOT Analysis) in joining/not joining in that company. then u may know is it good or bad.
if it is bad leave it
if it is good then think about bond, for this analyze like this
know about the organisation by talking with working employees.
think do you want to leave that organization before 3 years, as it is in your native place
think is there any better scope for u in another organization
see all these and take decision
